Where Can I Go Camping Near Morris County?
Everyone here at Acura of Denville has a love of cars, but we also have hobbies that take us out of Denville and into Morris County. Few things get us as excited as prepping for a camping trip, but if you’ve never been or you want to find somewhere new, you might be wondering where you can go camping around Morris County. We want to share some of our favorite spots with you so that when you load up the MDX cargo area or secure a kayak to the RDX roof mount, you can be sure explore somewhere new.
Camping Close to Home
While Fla-Net Park might be a nice break from the everyday life in Mt. Olive, there’s a difference between driving an RV to a wooded area and going out camping. When we look to get a bit closer to nature, here’s where we go:
- Mahlon Dickerson Reservation – The largest park in the county, you’ll have nearly 3,200 acres of wilderness. Enjoy 20 miles worth of biking and hiking trails or take a break to fish at the lake.
- Voorhees State Park – With seven trails available and easy access to Ken Lockwood Gorge, Voorhees State Park is practically in our backyard, just a half hour from Hackettstown. Stargazers will love the New Jersey Astronomical Association Observatory located in the park.
- Delaware Water Gap – Hike The Appalachian Trail and the Kittatinny Ridge or simply marvel at nature in progress as the Delaware Water Gap continues to grow solely through the power of natural flowing water. With 40 miles of river and 67,000 acres to explore, the Delaware Water Gap has given us some unforgettable memories.
Adventuring in Your Acura
Part of the joy of camping is discovering somewhere new, and if you want to get a bit further from home, there are plenty of New England campgrounds nearby, like Swan Island or Townshend State Park. Or you could put the RDX utility to the test with a family road trip down the coast to a Florida camping site like Grayton Beach or Sebastian Inlet. With the right Acura accessories and an RDX AWD or MDX SH-AWD, you can be prepared for wherever your adventures take you.
