Acura Wows Critics and Pros at the New York Auto Show
There are few events more exciting for us than an auto show, and the news coming out of the 2017 New York Auto Show has us eager for the 2018 Acura lineup. In addition to previewing a restyled Acura MDX, the automaker unveiled the 2018 Acura TLX. We’re still waiting on a release date, but Acura of Denville is here with the highlights of the new sport sedan to tide you over until you’re able to get behind the wheel.
2018 Acura TLX
It only debuted in 2015, and yet the Acura TLX has made a significant impression on our drivers. In order to keep turning heads around Denville, the TLX would need to be refreshed periodically, and the New York Auto Show let Acura take the wraps off of their new TLX design. More than just a makeover, the sport sedan carries upgraded interior tech that includes a dual-screen infotainment system with new software for reduced response time along with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration. AcuraWatch safety technology, like Collision Mitigation Braking and Lane Keeping Assist, will still be standard.
While the 2018 Acura TLX is more than just good looks, we can’t leave those exterior upgrades un-talked about. Inspired by the Acura Precision Concept that made its debut in 2016, the TLX exterior features large front intakes below the bumper, a wide pentagonal grille, and a set of wraparound Jewel Eye LED headlights for a more aggressive look.
Perhaps the most exciting news regarding the sport sedan is the return of a familiar name: A-SPEC. The A-SPEC version of the 2018 Acura TLX will feature the V6 engine exclusively and allow drivers the choice of front-wheel drive or Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD). In addition to sporting unique front fascia, it will have other exterior elements that are sure to turn heads, like dark-finish alloy wheels, a gloss black spoiler, and a redesigned rear diffuser (with dual exhaust tips).
